Hi Everyone! We're starting June with a great and inspiring film, The Headless Woman by Lucrecia Martel! This film completes her "Salta Trilogy," a set of stories and personal reflections on the life in Salta, Argentina Martel's home province. We're excited and looking forward to this screening which also features our first south american film in the short (?) history of our meetings!

We'll be meeting in the Media Commons Library, 3rd floor inside Robarts, in Screening Room #1. This room has capacity for 35 of us. Everyone is welcome so please share this with anyone you'd like to! Please have in mind the capacity limit.

About the movie

A mysterious and intriguing tale of a woman who may have killed someone or something while driving on dirt road. Dazed and confused, she tries to piece together what happened, while her husband systematically tries to erase her tracks. From the acclaimed director of THE HOLY GIRL, Lucrecia Martels third feature explores the intricacies of class in a male dominated society. This official selection of the Cannes and New York Film Festival has been declared, One of the great films of the decade by Artforum Magazine, while Village Voice says Martels strongest to date! and the New York Times says, The exacting formalism and beauty of THE HEADLESS WOMANis undeniable.
